Later in the war, the Separatists used them as cargo vessels in their fleets. Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano traveled aboard a Gozanti Cruiser from Mandalore to meet with Confederate Senator Mina Bonteri on Raxus in order to discuss opening peace negotiations between the Republic and Separatist Senates. Gozanti Cruisers were usually slow moving starships, but they compensated for it with their well-armored hull and heavy laser cannon batteries, making them difficult targets for pirates. It first appeared in Episode I and was later added to the Clone Wars TV series. The Gozanti Cruiser was a transport utilized by many during the Clone Wars, including the Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and other independent merchants. The Gozanti-class cruiser, known also as Imperial Freighter, was a heavily armored starship used by the Galactic Empire.
